The Everette Stubbs Golden Wedding reception will be Sunday instead of Saturday as previously announced…Open house hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at their home… Many of the old-timers in this area will want to share the occasion…Bill Adkins making an early morning call…Ayne Crossett having trouble with his watch… Harold Jackson remarking that he would sure rather be fishing today instead of working…Steve Phillips being thrilled over getting a new bicycle…Jim James will be one of the riders in the Seminole Jaycee’s Donkey Softball Game set for Saturday night at Oiler Park… Tickets may be bought from any Jaycee member or at any gate…Mike Jordon will ride in the game also…He’s a member of the Seminole local “Yokels” team…
A busy summer is in store for county road workers in District 2 under County Commissioner Newt Harber. Starting the first part of July a large-scale hard surfacing project of several “key” roads in the Seminole area is set to begin.
No major break is in sight for Oklahoma’s hot, dry weather pattern, although some areas might get scattered showers, forecasters said today.
Gov. David Hall signed the school money bills into law today, and the Oklahoma Education Association lifted sanctions that had been in effect against Oklahoma schools the past three years.
