At noon today in Seminole the temperature was 85 degrees after a low Monday night of 65, the local station of the National Weather Service reported. High temperature Monday was 87 degrees. Rainfall for 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. today totaled .38 inches, and total rainfall since Saturday until 7 a.m. today totaled 2.19 inches, with 1.74 inches falling Saturday night.
Burglars entered the Vandiver store at Bowlegs Friday night and carted off an undetermined amount of merchandise. A spokesman for the owner said Monday an inventory of the stock was being checked to determine the loss.
Students from across the United States are studying Russia for college credit through a unique program offered by the University of Oklahoma in Munich, Germany. “Only about 10 percent of the students at the center are from OU,” said Dr. V. Stanley Vardys, professor of political science at OU and director of the Munich Center. “This is probably due to insufficient knowledge of the program and insufficient emphasis here at OU on study abroad.”
Fourteen Seminole students at Oklahoma State university, Stillwater, are among 4,716 named to the Dean’s Honor roll for the spring semester. A student qualifies for this honor by making a 3.0 grade average or better while carrying at least 12 credit hours and receiving no grade lower than a C.
