Designated by the Seminole Kiwanis Club as the senior boy and girl “Students of the Month” for April at Seminole High were Miss Ginger Graham and Larry Wright. Miss Graham is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Graham, 437 Sims Place, and Wright is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Wright Jr., 2211 Meadow Lane. The two were guests of the Kiwanians at their noon luncheon Thursday, and they were presented their award certificates by James Keiser, club president.

The Seminole National Guard Unit is carrying out a program of their own in site beautification of the grounds occupied by Armory on East Strothers.

According to Sgt. Tim McNew of the unit these improvements will include the building of a new lawn area in front of the Armory, the installation of new curbing along the entire length of the Armory property along Strothers street, and the building of steps and sidewalk from the curbing to the building entrance. The curbing, sidewalk, and dirt fill for the lawn have been completed.

The Annual Decoration Day at Little cemetery, located north of Seminole on Highway 99, will be Sunday, May 30, Lynn Loy, sexton for the cemetery announced Saturday…A special Decoration Day program will be held outside the chapel at 2 p.m., and complete details of this will be announced later, Loy added…Jim Hunteman was very busy Friday keeping the Kiwanis Junior Olympics running smooth…Coach Don Byrd did his part for the Kiwanis Club by blowing a whistle…Jim Glasco scared the daylights out of everyone when he kept blasting away on the starting pistol… Tony Curry was noted as doing a good job on the stop watch…Ken Murnan having to make some quick decisions on who placed third…Jim Myers remarking that he can’t wait until next year’s Olympics…Herb Ihle saying he can wait easy… Kiwanis President Jim Keiser getting sunburned by camera flashbulbs…Phillip Parks trying to snap a picture by pushing on the focus button…Roy Leggett was always ready to help…Bob Davis running around with two fistful of blue, red and white ribbons…Victor Fleming making sure none of the runners jumped across the starting line too quickly… Mrs. John G. Mitchell now living at Tulsa sending greetings to her host of friends here…

A special meeting of the Seminole Athletic Club has been called for Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, Jack Alexander, club president announced Saturday.

Alexander urged all members to be present and said that anyone wishing to join the club could do so at that time.

This past week was School Bus Safety Week and at Sasakwa they observed it with two accidents involving school buses. The first occurred earlier in the week and the second happened at 3:45 p.m. Friday at a point six miles west of Sasakwa on SH 56.

Friday afternoon the bus involved was driven by Dave Cargill of Sasakwa. The bus was carrying five students at the time but none was injured. Cargill complained of injury and was taken to Valley View Hospital in Ada by a passing motorist.
