The class of 1951, Seminole high school graduates, has selected a date for its reunion the first since graduation, Miss Charline Brown, announced. City park will be the assembly scene with registration to begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 26. For months and months, Miss Brown has been learning addresses, corresponding with and talking to members of the class in the interest of staging such an event. She has been able to contact all with the exception of about five 1951 graduates.

Word has been received of the promotion of Donald Robbins to Army Speicalist fourth class in Seoul, Korea. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Robbins, 810 Van drive, the military man is a member of the Eighth Army Honor Guard.

Since entering the service, the Seminole man has also earned his high school diploma. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of last year, underwent basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, and advanced training at Fort. Knox, Kentucky.

While he is serving overseas, his wife, Louise, and two sons, Keith, eight years old, and James, five, make their home at 1226 Timmons. The local servicemen expects to return home in early 1972.

Dr. Hubert L. Callaway announced that the regular monthly meeting of the Seminole Board of Education will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school cafeteria…This change in hour of meeting was made because the Junior College Board met last week, the SHS board president said… The public is welcome to attend the meeting…L.E. (Red) Cornelison telling a Producer newsman that he still is interested in rifle matches…He just hasn’t had the time lately, but he will be back in the swing of things soon…But he still does manufacture special guns which has gained a nationwide reputation… Susan Easter being happy over the school holidays over the weekend…Brenda jones being missed by our news staff while she is away on Spring vacation…Family and friends of Rodney L. Lane, former 2nd class Navy man now civilian and veteran of Vietnam, gave him a big welcome home this past week…

City firemen were called out Saturday to douse a grass fire on the Anderson place 7 miles west on Highway 9. Cause of the fire was unknown, firemen said, and about 60 acres of grass burned over before the fire was brought under control.

Ray Davis, chairman of the Tri-City Industrial Show deserves a great thanks for the fine job he accomplished on setting up the Tri-City Show. Ray put in many long hours to make this show a success. Approximately 500 persons paid a visit to the show and were personally made welcome by Ray Davis and his assistant Raymond Sowers. Rudolph Black, chairman of the Agri-Business Team, tabbed the Cattlemen’s Clinic and Bar-be-cue a big success. Approximately 150 cattlemen and businessmen were in attendance.
