Workers employed by the Seminole Telephone Company are burying an underground cable from the corner of Oak Street and Milt Phillips Avenue south to Wewoka street. At Wewoka street the cable will go above ground. It will carry five additional circuits to the Bowlegs telephone system. The entire operation is costing around $52,000, telephone officials said. The additional circuits will speed up Bowlegs telephone service and afford Bowlegs residents long distance dialing.

A voice “that sounded as if it might be an older man’s voice,” early today warned Seminole Community Junior College that a bomb would explode in the College building “in twenty minutes.” The College, housed in First Presbyterian church on West Strothers street, was immediately evacuated and police, the telephone company and sheriff’s office were called. A thorough search of the building did not reveal any bomb and the telephone threat was determined to be a hoax. Details of the threat reported by John Marshall, business manager, said the call was received at the college on the business office phone at 7:52 a.m. Police and the telephone company were immediately called.
