Vandals Hit Office

City police reported that vandals caused extensive damage at the Wills Ready-Mixed Concrete office, 600 West Osage, this past weekend. Grease was spread over a door, and over the building, several light globes were broken, some window glass broken out, and a number of shingles torn off the roof of the building.

Sebastian Wins in Wewoka Vote

Charlie Sebastian, incumbent commissioner of public works on the Wewoka City Commission, won re-election to another three-year term at the annual city election Tuesday. He defeated B.R. Williamson, a Wewoka service station, operator, by a vote of 529 to 280.

Bride-Elect Feted at Gift Shower

Miss Phyllis Barker, brideelect of Mr. Kenneth Creel, was honored at a “come and go” bridal shower recently in the home of Mrs. Vera Hunter. The affianced couple will be married Friday, March 26, in Free Will Baptist church, corner of Killingsworth and Spurr. Hostesses were Cheryl Hunter and Vicki Briggs. Refreshments were served from a table graced with a white cutworth cloth.

NEW DIRECTOR of the Seminole County ASC office in Wewoka is Jim Spurlock, who was stationed in Chandler prior to his promotion to the Seminole county office. He succeeds Bert Chesney, longtime director, recently transferred to the Hughes County ASCS office. Spurlock is a native of Cotton County, and a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a major in agricultural economics.

March 27 Music Youth Day Set

Several Seminole music lovers plan to travel to Edmond Saturday, March 27, to attend the 19 th annual “Youth Day” for junior clubs and student divisions of Oklahoma Federation of Music clubs. Activities will be held in the Fine Arts building on the campus of Central State college. The day’s program will include the state junior Music Festival Winners competition, auditions for the Buttram Elementary String awards and nine state music scholarship presentations and a Music Careers seminar.
