Property damages only resulted from the collision of cars driven by Clifford D. Houck, 1727 Lewis, and Margaret Gurley, 1632 Armsby, Friday shortly before 5 p.m. at Broadway and Milt Phillips Avenue, police reported.
According to the filed accident report, the Houck car stuck the rear of the Gurley vehicle as it turned off Broadway at the intersection. Both vehicles were going east on Broadway.
Fire of unknown origin caused major damage to a four-room frame house occupied by the Dimple Tillie family a mile and a half west of the city limits on Highway 9 shortly after 1 p.m. Firemen said the fire had gained considerable headway by the time they arrived, but they managed to control the blaze and save on room of the house.
All of the contents were damaged either by the fire or smoke, firemen said.

At a special meeting of the Strother Board of Education held Monday night, the board voted to call a special
