City Clerk Leonard Saffa having a supply of the necessary filing petitions needed by candidates for the city offices to be voted on March 16… County election Board Ruby Hurley sent these over as a convenience for those wishing to file, but the filing papers must be returned to the election board accompanied by a $50 cashier’s check… Saffa can’t accept the filing papers, Mrs. Hurley pointed out… City Manager Don Brown is still hunting a house to lease or purchase so he can move his family here from Springfield, Mo. … Walter and Ricky Dell of Altus naming their baby daughter, Elizabeth Lynn… The newcomer is the great grandchild of Marion and Hattie Thrower…

The county sheriff’s offices today was checking on possible suspects in the theft of three mag wheels and tires from a car belonging to Mrs. Leon (Susan) Taylor while the vehicle was parked on the Varnum gym parking lot Thursday night.

Supt. Eugene Warrenburg said the car was parked at the edge of the area and away from lights used on the lot. He also said that he has individuals to patrol the lot each night during the ball games.

Tan-Wan-Ka-O-Ki-Hi Camp Fire Girls shared a skating party Tuesday afternoon. Refreshments were enjoyed at the rink. Girls present were Lisa Davis, June Dunlap, Regina Epley, Tommie Morgan, Kay Nicholson and Tammy Pitts.

Girls decided on a symbol for the group and each member chose her Indian name and made a symbol of its meaning to her. Mrs. Sue Nicholson, leader, discussed with the girls, the honors they have earned and reminded them of the requirements for warranting the various ranks. Lisa Davis was presiding officer.

June Dunlap was refreshment hostess. All present have been named except the assistant leader, Mrs. Larry Mullen.

The Seminole Junior College Blue Belles launch a two-game series of play here in the Seminole high school gym starting tonight when they take on the Riderettes of Southern State College, Magnolia, Arkansas, in a contest set for 7:30 p.m. The Belles will play Southern State in another contest set for 6:30 Saturday night ending their weekend two games playing series.

Also Saturday night the Seminole Junior College Trojan boys will play following the girls’ game at 8:00 p.m. The Trojans will play Bacone, ranked at the nation’s No. 13 college boys team, in a crucial Bi-State conference game. The Bacone team is one of the toughest teams in the state, as far as junior college boys basketball is concerned.
