‘Stretch’ Promoted To Park Supervisor
Jonathan Keith has worked for City of Seminole for nine years. His co-workers call him Stretch, and when he is seen no one questions why. He stands at 6’7 and towers over his co-workers while he works.
Jon started with the City as a correctional officer for the Police Department. He was there for 4 months until he moved to the Street Department where he eventually became an assistant supervisor for two years. Recently, Jon transferred from the Street Department to become the Park Supervisor for the Parks Department.
Public Works Director Bryant Baker celebrated Jon’s promotion. “I want to congratulate Stretch on his promotion. He has been a hard and faithful employee to City of Seminole for many years and deserves this. I look forward to the future of the Parks Department under his leadership.”
Jon has been a part of many big projects around the City including adding a new addition to the Splashpad, building the Skatepark, and his favorite Snowman Wonderland.
Jon said, “I was a part of the beginning of Snowman Wonderland. I laid electric line and put up lamp posts around Magnolia Lake. I helped build the drum that is placed under the Christmas tree from finding the metal to welding it together. I loved being a part of the process of making something so great happen for the community and seeing the results every year is worth every bit of the hard work we put into it!”
He encourages everyone to go see Snowman Wonderland and enjoy it as much as they can throughout the season every year.
Many of the employees at City of Seminole claim that working there is like working with family, and Jon says the same. “I love feeling like I am a part of the team. It’s like I work with family everyday.”
Jonathan Keith wanted to thank the community, “Thank you to all the citizens for their support on our projects through the years. Also, thank you to the people that I work with that have been like family to me.”
