‘I Have a Reason’Author to Hold Book Signing at Library

Posted in:

Tecumseh author Joey Perry will hold a book signing at the Seminole Public Library on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. – noon during the Made in Oklahoma Festival.

Perry will be signing copies of his memoir, “I Have a Reason,” which is currently available on Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble. com.

Being autistic, Joey faced bullying earlier than most. It was an uphill battle at school that nobody knew about. Losing his popularity would either be the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning. This memoir reveals his discovery...rebellion and true freedom were not the same.

In reflecting on the creation of the memoir, Perry said, “I wrote this memoir to tell readers what I wish someone had told me: becoming a ‘popular kid,’ is not true happiness. I went to extreme lengths to fit in, only to learn that my peers’ praises were never enough to keep me happy. I am glad I lost my popularity, because it led me to a more meaningful life. My hope is that more people can experience what I am talking about. Childhood bullying did not get the final say in my life, and it shouldn’t have that power over yours either!”

Joey Perry used his Godgiven talents to become a designer, artist, and author. Before I Have a Reason, he published Night Racers: The Dimension Awaits. He was raised in Oklahoma by a special education teacher and a military veteran with a bachelor’s in psychology. His portfolio can be seen at JoeyPerryArts.com.
