TAOS, Feed The Kids Partner to Offer Free 3rd Meals to Students
The Academy of Seminole (TAOS) has announced its partnership with the non-profit organization Feed The Kids to provide students with a third nutritious meal each day for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
This initiative is made possible through the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), administered by the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Child Nutrition Section. As an official CACFP sponsor, Feed The Kids is helping TAOS implement this vital program to ensure no student ends the day hungry.
The meals, provided by Southeast Oklahoma- based KTC Distribution, feature their convenient and nutritious MUNCHITS product line. Designed to meet USDA guidelines, these meals are fully reimbursable through the state, making them an accessible and efficient solution for schools.
“We’re proud to provide our students with meals that meet the highest nutritional standards while supporting their well-being,” said Jadee Hoskison, Child Nutrition Director for The Academies of Oklahoma. “This program is a gamechanger in ensuring every child has access to the food they need to thrive.”
“We are incredibly excited to offer our students a free, healthy third meal each day. Parents don’t need to worry about paperwork, and kids don’t have to go home hungry. This is our way of ensuring every child stays food secure while they focus on learning and growing,” said Head of School Tammy Potter.
A news release states that the partnership reflects the Academy of Seminole’s commitment to fostering a supportive and nourishing environment for its students and families. By addressing food insecurity, the school continues to champion the success and well-being of its community.
