Seminole Sales Tax Returns Lower For Month And Year

The June release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) shows the City of Seminole saw a decrease in tax revenue in their latest return compared to last month. The release showed this revenue was also lower compared to June last year.

The City of Seminole’s Use Tax return was higher compared to last month’s, although it was lower than last year’s return. The latest release explains the June distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from April business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from April 16th to 30th and estimated sales from May 1st to the 15th. The disbursement of $201,028,856 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $6,927,715 from the $194,105,141 distributed to them in June last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $36,620,911.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $35,436,529 sales tax disbursement and $7,416,188 in a use tax disbursement.

The CITY OF SEMINOLE has a sales tax rate of .04 percent. The city received a $566,028.98 June Sales Tax disbursement. This was $60,950.43 less than the $626,979.41 returned last month. The return was $22,434.97 less than the $588,463.95 reported last year.

The City of Seminole also receives a Use Tax, which is from purchases that are made out of state, usually from Internet sales. Seminole’s June Use Tax return of $62,124.00 was $5,090.89 more than last month’s $57,033.11. It was $25,296.05 less than last year’s $87,420.05 Use Tax return.

This month’s report shows SEMINOLE COUNTY, which has a sales tax rate of 0.0125, received a $308,478.90 sales tax disbursement for June. This was just $179.41 less than the $308,658.31 returned last month. It was $5,172.42 less than the $302,574.74 returned last year. The Seminole County Use Tax return of $53,453.65 was $934.7 less than last month’s disbursement of $54,388.35 . It was $1,147.47 more than the $52,306.18 returned last year.

The June sales tax disbursement for the CITY OF WEWOKA of $107,664.91 was $5,952 less than last month’s return of $113,616.91. This disbursement was $14,206.64 more than last year’s return of $93,458.27.

The City of Wewoka’s Use Tax return was $24,513.49. This was $2,677.55 more than the May return of $21,835.94. It was $5,839.24 more than last year’s $18,674.25 return.

The CITY OF KONAWA received a $28,174.64 June Sales Tax disbursement. This was $2,848.34 less less than the $31,022.98 returned last month, and $2,550.55 less than the $30,725.19 return in June last year. Konawa has a 0.04 percent sales tax.

The City of Konawa’s Use Tax return for June was $11,386.66. This was $7,196.9 less than last month’s $4,189.76 disbursement. This was $5,840.61 less less than the $10,030.37 returned last year.

The CITY OF MAUD has a 0.04% sales tax and receives a tax disbursement for both Seminole and Pottawatomie Counties. The portion located in Seminole County showed a $9,187.32 return for June. This was $1,017.56 less than last month’s $10,204.88 return. It was $3,142.31 less than last year’s $12,329.63 return.

(Maud’s Pottawatomie County sales tax disbursement was $3,540.95 this month and $3,503.27 last year). Maud’s Seminole County Use Tax return was $8,489.88. This was $1,167.56 less than the $9,657.44 May return. It was $2,664.91 more last year’s $5,824.97 return.

(Maud received a Pottawatomie County use tax disbursement of $3,105.97 this month and $3,105.97 last year).

The CITY OF CROMWELL received a $4,012.24 sales tax disbursement for June. This was $398.96 less than the $4,411.20 May return and $72.69 less than last year’s return of $34,084.93. Cromwell has a 0.03 percent sales tax. Cromwell does not receive a Use Tax disbursement.

The CITY OF BOWLEGS received a $2,030.88 disbursement for June. This was $697.13 less than last month’s $2,728.01 disbursement. It was $329.96 less less than last year’s $2,360.84 return. Bowlegs has a 0.03 percent sales tax. They do not collect a Use Tax.

TheCITYOFSASAKWA received a $2,832.85 disbursement for June. This was $227.19 less than the $3,060.04 May disbursement and $425.90 more than the $2,406.95 disbursement last year. Sasakwa does not collect a Use Tax.
