Rotary Club’s Pancake Feed Is Called Off
Staff Report The Seminole Rotary Club’s annual pancake breakfast slated Saturday, March 28 has been canceled.
This year’s breakfast was originally scheduled at the Seminole Middle School Cafeteria, but that facility does not have adequate electricity for grills and deep friers, nor does it have griddles. Organizers say moving the breakfast to the Seminole Municipal Building, where it has been held for decades, is not an option due to the ongoing construction project in downtown Seminole.
This annual breakfast tradition was originally started by the Seminole Kiwanis Club. When the Kiwanis Club disbanded, they approached the Rotary Club to see if they would be interested in carrying on this traditional fundraising event held on the fourth Saturday of February. The Rotary gladly accepted the offer, and agreed to name the event after Bob Davis, a founding Rotary member that was greatly respected in the community and had recently passed away.
