His parents were William Bill Narcomey (aka “Willie B”, Eufaula Band) and Dorothy Bean Narcomey (Fushutche Band). He is the oldest of 8 children, Dave grew up in poverty, He viewed this as an incentive to better himself. Dave started working at the age of 14 years old, working as a “janitor’s assistant” for the Bowlegs School system. His ceremonial grounds are “New Tulsa”, with his family Churches being the “Mekusukey Church and the Cedar Creek Baptist Church”. Dave is married to Cynthia Narcomey, for 52 years and they have two daughters, with one daughter recently retiring from the Army Reserve with 26 years of service. They also have 6 grandchildren, ages 12 to 28 years old.
Dave made many sacrifices in working toward bettering himself. Obtaining a BSN/ RN and working as a medical professional for greater than 40 years before retiring from the Nursing profession. He received a Naval Commission (while in college) as an Officer in the Navy, serving with the U.S. Marines on several deployments as part of the U.S. Marine Expeditionary Forces, serving as a member of the Naval Surgical support team for the marines and other operational units, retiring from the Navy in 1993 as a highly decorated Naval Officer, establishing himself as an accomplished leader, winning awards for Organizational abilities, managing million-dollar budgets. Founded and sold a screen-printing graphics design company after 16 years in that industry (post Navy years).
Upon Retirement from the Navy, David became involved as a “Political/social activist”, he also served as director for other activist groups. Dave is an active member of the Oklahoma Indian Bikers MC and rides his Harley as part of the Mvskoke Veterans Riders, escorting veterans on their final journey. David currently works part-time as a CLEET Certified Private Investigator with over 10 years’ experience.
Dave has served three terms as Seminole Nation Council Representative of the Fushutche Band. He has served as past Chair for the Seminole Nation Finance Committee, currently Chair of the Grisso Mansion Revitalization Advisory Committee, and he is currently the Band Chief of the Fushutche Band. Dave has developed an intimate knowledge of how the Council functions and operates. Dave has a clear grasp of the dedication and commitment it takes to move the Seminole Nation forward for success.
He was never a “Party” person but instead focused on personal success. Mr. Narcomey is also a “Cancer Survivor”, recovering from Renal Cancer and has remained cancer free for 6 years to date. As a retired Military Veteran, he views himself as someone that always comes up with solutions for problems. As Assistant Chief, he believes that he can fill that need alongside the Chief.
The Assistant Chief sets a powerful example, steering the Nation toward excellence. True Leadership is measured not by authority but by the ability to inspire others to follow a path of ethical responsibility and shared success. He has always done his best to lead by example, and so after serving this Country alongside many other veterans, he wishes to serve the people of the Seminole Nation.
