Canadian Valley Electric Hosts First Responder Lunch & Learn
In recognition of May as National Electrical Safety Month, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) hosted a First Responder Lunch & Learn on Thursday, May 22, bringing together emergency personnel from across the region for a day of education, collaboration, and community engagement.
Held at CVEC’s headquarters, the event provided an opportunity for first responders to learn about electrical safety topics that they may encounter in the field. Sessions included essential guidance on how to handle downed power lines, electric vehicle (EV) wrecks, solar energy systems, pole and grass fires, and other electricity-related hazards.
“Safety is at the core of everything we do at CVEC, and that extends to our community’s first responders,” said Jesse Murray, Director of Safety & Loss Control at CVEC. “By sharing our knowledge, we aim to help ensure that our local heroes have the tools and information they need to stay safe when responding to electrical emergencies.”
