A Seminole Police officer was uninjured in a two-vehicle collision east of Seminole late Tuesday morning.

According to Police Chief Jon Withers, Officer Myron Fixico was driving his police cruiser on Highway 9 near St. Crispin’s when he was sideswiped by a truck carrying an oversize load. Fixico was not hurt, but the police vehicle sustained heavy damage.

Withers said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) was investigating the crash and investigators preliminarily said Fixico was not at fault. Withers added that Fixico had moved over as much as he could on the two-lane highway but was unable to avoid a collision.

As of press time Wednesday, a report from the OHP had not been released. In the case of non-injury accidents, the OHP has 10 days to complete a report.
