Seminole Public Library Launches School Supplies For Fines Initiative
Throughout the month of August, Seminole Public Library is offering patrons a meaningful way to settle overdue book fines: by donating school supplies. In the spirit of community and support for local students, library visitors may bring in new school supplies, which will be accepted in place of traditional monetary fines.
“This initiative not only allows you to clear your library record but also helps equip children for a successful academic year,” said Jeanette Kennedy, Library Director.
The library invites residents to join them in turning overdue books into opportunities and make a difference—one pencil, notebook, or backpack at a time—before the month draws to a close.
Summer break is nearly over for students. Most schools across Seminole County are set to return to the classroom on Thursday, Aug. 7, while Sasakwa will resume Friday, Aug. 8 and New Lima will begin classes on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The Seminole Public Library is located at 424 N. Main and offers books, audiobooks, e-books, videos, computers and meeting space for its patrons. Call (405) 382--
