A runoff election will be held this Saturday, Aug. 9 to decide on who will hold the two top offices for the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

Incumbent Chief Lewis Johnson will face Sena Yesslith in Saturday’s contest and Sheila Harjo is challenging Brian Palmer for the Assistant Chief post.

The runoff was forced in last month’s general election, as none of the chief and assistant chief candidates picked up the required 51% of the votes.

Absentee ballots for the run-off election must be received by the post office no later than the last mail run on Aug. 9.
