Seminole HS Students Qualify For BPA Nationals
Seminole High School students are making waves in the world of business and technology, showcasing their skills at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference.
Joseph Mull, a senior, achieved an outstanding 5th place finish in the Python programming category. He was the only student from a traditional high school to compete, as the other participants were high school students from technology centers. His performance has earned them a spot at the BPA National Leadership Conference in May, where they will proudly represent Seminole High School.
Brody Foutz, a junior, also had a strong showing in the C++ programming category, placing in the top 12. His achievement highlights both his dedication to coding excellence and the growing strength of Seminole High School’s Business, Marketing, and Information Technology (BMITE) program.
In addition to their individual successes, Joseph and Brody teamed up with fellow student Braden Carter to compete in the podcasting category. While they did not place in this event, their participation showcased their versatility and teamwork.
Briana Wymore, BMITE teacher and BPA advisor at Seminole High School, is in her first year in this role after previously teaching middle school. She has been instrumental in guiding students through their BPA journey and is thrilled with their success.
“I am very proud of each of these students,” Wymore said. “They have worked incredibly hard, and their achievements prove that Seminole High School students can compete at a high level. I can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.”
The team would also like to extend a special thank you to the Seminole Public Library for providing hotspots that allowed them to compete effectively. Additionally, they appreciate the ongoing support from Seminole Public Schoolsadministrationandboardmembers, whoseencour agement and resources have been invaluable.
As the team prepares for Nationals, they will need to raise funds to cover travel expenses. The community is encouraged to support them as they represent Seminole on a national stage.
