Brody Haley, a former Seminole High School student and presently a junior at East Central University in Ada, was recently given an opportunity to travel to Kansas City, Missouri to give a presentation to the Central Association of Russian Teachers of America (CARTA) Conference.

Haley, an English major at ECU, was asked to participate in the conference by his French Professor, Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya, President of CARTA. He wrote an essay and gave a ten-minute presentation to CARTA members, including Russian professors and college students from eight different states.

Haley’s essay was titled “Unfulfilled Love: The Similarities of Anna Karenina and Madame Bovary.” Anna Karenina is a classic Russian novel and Madame Bovary is a classic French novel. Several of those in attendance gave positive feedback with the presentation including many Russian professors.
