Seminole City Council to Meet Tonight
The Seminole City Council and its related authorities will convene for regular monthly meetings tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 12) at the library.
City Council agenda items include: - Mayoral presentation of Certificates of Completion to Jolene Doucette and Scott Rossman for completing eight hours of training for new municipal officials through the Oklahoma Municipal League, as required by Oklahoma Senate Bill 587.
- Consideration and possible action to approve the following Mayoral appointments through 2028: Shevlyn Foutz and Ryan Bunyan to the Seminole Urban Renewal Authority. Buster Wilcox and Danny McSperritt to the Lake Advisory Committee. Ken Green, Mechell Downey and Natalie O’Dell to the Planning Commission. Ken Green and Steve Schoaps to the Board of Adjustments.
- Consideration and possible action to approve the purchase of a 2025 F350 Ford Utility Truck from John Vance Fleet Services at the state contract price of $73,668.33, a budgeted capital improvement project (CIP) for FY2025-2026.
- Consideration and possible action to approve the low estimate of $61,700 from Wassana Construction to replace the carpet in the library damaged by the 2022 tornadoes, excluding the lobby and conference room that were already replaced, to be funded from insurance proceeds. This includes removal, storage and re-placement of books during the construction process.
Consider and adopt Resolution No. 2025-06, a Resolution providing for the levy of a one-eighth of one cent (.125 cents) use tax within the City of Seminole, Oklahoma. Consider and adopt Resolution No. 2025-07, a Resolution committing to a minimum of 25% of the proposed project costs and to completing the project within one year of the award.
- Consideration and possible action to approve changing the work schedule for the City’s Public Works employees from five 8-hour days per week to four 10-hour days, a permanent change until further notice or action by the Council.
- Consideration, discussion and possible action to enter into executive session under Oklahoma Statute 25 O.S. § 307(B) (4), confidential communications between a public body and its attorney concerning a pending investigation, claim or action.
The meetings will get underway at 7 p.m. in the Goldie Barnett Conference Room of the library. All meetings are open to the public.
