Saxon to Give Update on Seminole at Forum

Posted in:

An update on city affairs and area economic development will be presented at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce forum luncheon Thursday.

Forum will take place in Utterback Ballroom of the Enoch Kelly Haney Center on the campus of Seminole State College at noon on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

City Manager Steve Saxon will speak about projects being addressed by the Seminole City Council as well as businesses recently opening in the community. He will also talk about plans for future economic growth in Seminole.

Saxon commented on plans for his presentation. “We are going to unveil a lot of surprises happening in Seminole - both in economic development and City works. Our City Council demands action and Forum attendees will see their vision for the coming year,” he said.

Also, as part of the Forum program, Saxon said that attendees will have a chance to win movie passes from Strother Cinema during a “Who Knows Seminole” trivia contest.

Saxon has served as Seminole’s City Manager since 1998. He came to Seminole from the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District after working eight years in planning, grant writing and industrial recruitment. His background includes two years at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce in financial packaging on economic development projects.

He has served on numerous boards and committees including the Executive Board of the Workforce Innovation Board, Seminole Hospital Board, COEDD Board of Directors, Mainstreet, Chamber of Commerce, Tornado Spotters and the Seminole Community Education Foundation.

Cost for the luncheon is $15 per person, payable at the door to the Seminole Chamber of Commerce. For more information about the forum program, contact the Chamber office at 405-382-3640.
