Konawa Officials Announce Revised Hours for City Hall
The Konawa City Council has voted to modify the operating hours of city hall to better serve the citizenry and offer a better work/life balance for city workers.
Previously the hours were 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, but effective immediately, the hours are Monday - Thursday 8 to 5 and Friday 8 to 12 noon.
“That will give citizens an extra hour to get to city hall. I also verified with the city manager that if someone is facing a [utility] cutoff they will be given until the following Monday as a courtesy,” said Mayor Dave Herriman.
“By extending hours Monday through Thursday and implementing half-day Fridays, we’re prioritizing convenience for our citizens and enhancing worklife balance for city employees, ultimately making Konawa a more attractive place to live and work,” Herriman added.
City Hall hours in neighboring communities are: Asher, M-F 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Ada, M-F 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Seminole, M-F 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Wewoka, M-Thurs. 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. – noon on Friday. A proposal to change Konawa’s hours was approved by the council at last week’s regular monthly meeting.
Konawa City Hall is located at 122 N. Broadway. The phone number is (580) 925-3775. The police department and other city offices are located there.
