Dr. Bob Gragg Named 2025 Superintendent of The Year
The Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA) has named Dr. Bob Gragg of Seminole Public Schools as the 2025 OASA District 9 Superintendent of the Year.
OASA annually recognizes outstanding administrators who, among other qualities, demonstrate successful experience in top level educational administration and have a sound, dynamic and realistic philosophy of education.
“Leaders set out to make a difference, not to just be called a leader. The recognition of our school superintendents by their peers is a powerful testament to their unwavering commitment, visionary leadership, and daily impact on students, educators, and communities. Dr. Bob Gragg is among the best of Oklahoma administrators. We are excited and proud to recognize these outstanding leaders whose service stands as a beacon of excellence in public education,” said Dr. Pam Deering, CCOSA/OASA Executive Director.
OASA has 20 Districts that consist of multiple counties. Eligible OASA members are nominated and selected by their peers in their OASA District. District 9 includes Pottawatomie, Seminole, and Hughes Counties.
Gragg is currently serving his sixth year as Superintendent of Seminole Public Schools, and his 52nd year as a professional educator. He is a second-generation Oklahoman, the youngest of nine children in his family, and the first to complete a college degree and follow his father’s success as a college graduate. He attained a PHD in Educational Leadership from Kennedy Western University, a Masters Degree from the University of Oklahoma, a BA from Oklahoma Baptist University, and graduated from Haileyville High School where he attended from first through 12th grades.
Gragg credits his success as an educational leader to the teachers, administrators, support staff, board of education members, students, parents and community supporters at Seminole and all the districts where he has been able to make a positive impact along his career educational journey. Gragg is a Lifelong Learner, as he is reminded of his dad’s words: “Our mind and body are more likely to rust out far sooner than they will wear out.” His dad’s encouragement serves as a reminder to exercise mind, body and spirit in order to stay on the cutting edge of continuous improvement.
Gragg also credits and thanks fellow superintendents and colleagues in District 9 and across the state, along with the leadership team at CCOSA, for always being supportive of the common thread of professional educational leadership.
“None of us is as smart and effective as all of us working together,” Gragg said.
Gragg will be recognized at the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administrators (CCOSA) Summer Leadership Conference on June 11-13.
