CVEC Sponsors Students For Energy Camp
Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) has announced its sponsorship of two eighth-grade students to attend the 2026 Energy Camp, a three-day Summer camp adventure designed to build leadership skills, promote teamwork, and educate young people about the importance of electrical safety, cooperative enterprises, and the rural electrification program. The camp will take place from May 26th to May 28th, 2026, at Canyon Camp near Hinton, Oklahoma, and is sponsored by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC).
Students who are currently enrolled as eighth graders in schools (public, private, or home) within or surrounding CVEC’s service area are eligible to compete for a spot at Energy Camp. To enter, students must pair up and submit either a joint video, 3-5 minutes in length, or a joint 250- word essay on the topic: “How Does Electricity Impact Your Everyday Life?” The contest encourages collaboration, as students must pair with another eighth-grader in their class to create and submit their video. Both completed entry forms must be attached to the email submission.
The deadline for video submissions is Friday, April 10 at 11:59 p.m. All entries should be submitted via email to Kaci Dennis at kdennis@mycvec.coop. Please be sure to keep a copy of your entry for your records.
Alternates will be selected in the event that the winners cannot attend.
