CVEC Fiber announced Friday that its fiber-optic network is now 100% built out, bringing fast, reliable high-speed internet to every member within the Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative service area.

“This milestone reflects the cooperative’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring rural residents have access to the same quality of connectivity as those in urban areas,” a CVEC spokesperson said.

Launched in 2021, CVEC Fiber’s ambitious project originally set a multi-year timeline for completion. Thanks to strong partnerships and the dedication of both the CVEC Fiber team and the employees of Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, the network buildout is now fully complete, ahead of schedule.

“This is an exciting and meaningful milestone for CVEC Fiber and the communities we serve,” said Sheila Allgood, General Manager of CVEC Fiber. “Completing our fiber buildout means every member now has the opportunity to connect to reliable, high-speed internet. Our goal has always been to provide essential connectivity to empower residents, businesses, and schools throughout rural Oklahoma, and reaching 100% buildout is a major step in achieving that mission.”

With construction complete, CVEC Fiber is now focused on connecting members who have pre-registered for service. Pre-registered members will be contacted through the end of the year to schedule installation appointments, with technicians ensuring a seamless connection to the network.
