CVEC’s ‘Operation Round up’ Hits Major Milestone
Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) has announced that its Operation Round Up Foundation (ORUF) has surpassed an incredible milestone, contributing over $2.2 million to local communities and families in need. Since its inception, the foundation has been dedicated to improving the lives of residents in the CVEC service area, providing critical assistance to those who need it most.
Operation Round Up works by rounding up members’ monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar, with the spare change pooled into a charitable fund. This fund supports a wide range of initiatives, including emergency assistance, educational scholarships, medical aid, and disaster relief, directly benefiting members within the CVEC service territory.
“We are incredibly proud of the impact the Operation Round Up Foundation has made in our communities,” said Dian Dawson, ORUF Board President, “This milestone is a testament to the generosity of our members and the powerful ripple effect their contributions have in supporting those who are struggling.”
