Congressional Candidate to Host Event at Haney Center
Staff Report Jena Nelson, a candidate for congressional district five, will host an in-person town hall at Seminole State College’s Haney Center on Tuesday, Aug. 26 from 5 – 7 p.m.
The event is open to all district five constituents, including current Congresswoman Stephanie Bice. Nelson and Bice would have equal time to answer the non-screened questions asked of them, according to a press release.
The date of the event marks four years since Bice last hosted an in-person town hall on August 26, 2021, Nelson’s office said.
“Four years is a long time to avoid your constituents and I hope Stephanie agrees to join me on-stage and in-person,” Nelson said. ”It’s time she put the phone down and look Oklahoma’s veterans, seniors and working poor in the face and explain why she continuously votes to make life harder for them while putting more money in the pockets of billionaires.”
Nelson’s office said additional details will be made available closer to the event.
