Applications Being Accepted for Leadership Seminole
Applications are being accepted for Class XXIII of Leadership Seminole. The program, created and coordinated by the Seminole Chamber of Commerce, is designed to provide professional development through information and training to individuals interested in serving in leadership roles in the community of Seminole.
The Leadership Seminole program was started in 1989 and was conducted annually for many years. Marci Donaho, Retired Executive Director of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum and Educator; Lana Reynolds, President of Seminole State College; Mitch Enos Financial Advisor with Edward Jones; and Amy Britt, Chief Executive Officer of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce are serving on the Leadership Seminole committee and coordinating the program sessions. All are graduates of Leadership Seminole.
Since its creation, over 300 local citizens have completed Leadership Seminole. Selection for this year’s class will be limited to 25 members. A tuition fee is required to participate and some scholarships for tuition are available through the Chamber. Tuition includes course book and class expenses. Applications are available at the Chamber office at 326 E. Evans. Applications will be accepted at the Chamber office or by fax at (405) 382-3529 through March 13.
The class will meet from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons beginning March 25 through May 13. A graduation ceremony will be held on the final day of class.
Attendance is required at all sessions, including orientation, classes and graduation. The class schedule will take members to various locations in Seminole and around Seminole County as they learn about Economic Development and Business and Industry; City Government; County Government; Education; Health Care; Tourism; and Local Business.
