BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — James Franklin was hired as Virginia Tech’s coach on Monday, a little more than a month after he was fired during his 12th season at Penn State. The Hokies became the first Power 4 football program to fill a coaching vacancy this season.

The Maud Tigers had home field advantage Friday night for their first round of the OSSAA Class C Playoffs against the Bluejacket Chieftains. The Chieftains came into the game with a 6-3 record on the season.

The Seminole State Soccer Team has won their District Championship and now move on to the Nationals Championships. The Seminole State Lady Trojans shutout Murray State College 11-0 on the 31st of October and Rose State College 4-0 on the 1st of November.

The Seminole State Trojan Basketball team hosted the Allen County Community College Red Devils Tuesday night in a close win. The SSC Trojans entered the game with a record of 2-1 on the season. Tuesday’s night game was the second home game for the Trojans and are undefeated at home so far.

After clinching a spot in the postseason last week with a 42-14 win over Victory Christian, the Seminole Chieftains will look to upset #1 seed Heritage Hall in the first round of the 2025 playoffs.
