The LRC softball Tournament concluded Tuesday at the Firelake ballfields with some very close games. New Lima Falconettes, Strother Lady Yellowjackets and the Varnum Lady Whippets were still battling it out for the championship.

Strother Lady Yellowjacket Kyliegh Sweet add another run to Strother’s lead Monday. Strother beat Mason 15-3 and New Lima 8-7 Monday.

Varnum Lady Whippet Riley Batchelor pitches to the waiting Macomb batter. Varnum won 6-4 over Macomb and 6-2 over Moss on Monday.

The Little River Conference Softball Tournament started Monday afternoon at the Firelake Ballfields. The local Seminole County teams participating are the Bowlegs Lady Bison, New Lima Falconettes, Strother Lady Yellowjackets and the Varnum.Lady Whippets.

Sports remain a popular extracurricular activity among modern students. Nearly six million students in the United States participated in high school sports during the 2021-2022 school year, according to an analysis of National Federation of State High School Associations data.

SSC - The Seminole State softball and baseball programs are being recognized this week in the NJCAA DI National rankings. The Seminole State softball program is sitting at a winning record of 29-3 and came in this week Nationally ranked at #11.
