The Varnum Baseball Tournament has begun with the Whippets hosting the eight-team tournament this Thursday. Those surrounding schools that participated in the tournament are Battiest/ Stuart, Asher, Caney, OCA, Union City, Ripley, Wright City and Varnum.

The New Lima Falcons started off their tournament facing the Haileyville Warriors Thursday evening. The Falcons posted a shutout with an 8-0 start. The Warriors went to bat first but went three and out. The Falcons lit up the scoreboard when B. Colbert scored on a steal of home.

STILLWATER – Led by a brace from Keaton Mitchell, Oklahoma State knocked off Stephen F. Austin, 3-0, Sunday night at Neal Patterson Stadium for its first win of the season. With the victory, the Cowgirls improved to 1-0-1 on the season, while SFA fell to 1-1-0.
