At the annual Oklahoma CareerTech Summit on Monday, the Oklahoma Asociation of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) and Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education presented cash awards to outstanding Oklahoma CareerTech educators. The awards ceremony held at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa was made possible by Robert A. Funk, Sr., president of Express Employment Professionals. Funk donated $27,500 among four categories: OkACTE Teacher of the Year – $10,000 awarded toKaren Upton, Metro Technology Centers OkACTE Postsecondary Teacher of the Year – $7,500 awarded to Kim Goode, SouthernTech OkACTE New Teacher of the Year - $5,000 awarded to Shelly Stephens, Tri CountyTechnology Center OkACTE Support Staff Member of the Year - $5,000 awarded to Kendra Allen, Canadian Valley Technology Center Bob Funk, Jr., senior vice president of sales and corporate development for Express Employment Professionals,presented the awards.
