But Fogg was a fictional character and so he didn’t make it into the Guinness Book of World Records, recalls the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. But, recently, Laura Massey-Pugh and Stevie Massey circumnavigated the world in 180 days on a tandem bicycle and won Guinness’ official recognition for their 18,000 mile triumph. It was the first time that the record keepers awarded recognition for the event to a male-female tandem team. A women’s team holds the record for their event, having biked the world in 263 days, 8 hours and 7 minutes; a men’s team did it in 281 days, 22 hours and 20 minutes.
