The other major county officers are forced by rigid state laws and the state authorities such as the tax commission, to follow laws enacted by the legislature. So far as we can determine, we have a very sincere group of county officials trying to do a good job for Seminole county. But the count commissioners have decided, not only here in Seminole county but across most of the state, that laws requiring purchase orders aren’t going to be enforced so they do not use purchase orders. That means no one knows what a county commissioner has purchased until the bill comes into the county for payment.
