Come to Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, for the Autumnal Equinox Walks. As the end of summer nears and crops are ready for harvest, the time of the year arrives for the most important of ceremonies for the eastern American Indians, the Busk or Green Corn Ceremony. The Green Corn Ceremony was a harvest and renewal ceremony that took place around the autumnal equinox in the Spiro area.

Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. is committed to promoting education and assisting in the cost of acquiring advanced education by providing a one-time scholarship of $2,500 to each recipient. Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Oklahoma State Fair, our organization felt compelled to award the annual scholarships regardless of the current circumstances.

Early Sunday morning the Seminole Fire Department worked a house fire 1/2 mile south of Highway 9 on NS3620 with the help of Bowlegs FD and Wewoka FD. The Seminole FD reported a very busy morning with a structure fire, MVA, transformer fire and Multiple medical calls.
