Seminole Producer publisher Milt Phillips will be one of five Oklahoma publishers that will be honored in Okmulgee Friday, April 21 for their help in establishing a printing department 25 years ago at Oklahoma State Tech. Another long-time newsman will be honored for providing aid to students. Awards will be presented during a press awards luncheon sponsored by the Graphic Arts center at the Okmulgee school, according to Tech Director Wayne W. Miller. All Oklahoma publishers have been invited. In addition to Phillips, other honorees include Wheeler Mayo, Sequoya Times; Paul Miller, former publisher now living in Broken Arrow; Lloyd M. Hightower, former publisher of the Vinita Daily Journal; and Jim Nance, Purcell Register. A separate award will be given to Raymond Fields, former publisher now residing in Oklahoma City, who has provided financial assistance to printing students through Raymond Fields scholarships.
