There will be eleven projects in all, and the type of work scheduled is known as slurry seal, an asphaltic type of covering. This method of street maintenance has not been used before but has been used to resurface some of the Seminole airport runways. Roesler said he hopes to make the public fully aware of the reasons for using this type of covering and the work necessary to do it. Chosen for the city’s first project or test of this use of slurry seal will be that portion on North Main from Seminole street to Walnut. There is a mismatch of the concrete pavement on this area of Main, and a fourinch leveling course and two coats of slurry seal will be required to give the street and adequate wearing surface.
