Varnum High School's Student Council recently hosted a canned food drive. Varnum students donated a total of 365 cans, which will be given directly to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Mr. Benson's sixth grade class brought the most cans in for the canned food drive and were rewarded with a pizza party!

Read moreSeminole County sales tax receipts suffered a setback in the most recent report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC). However, the November sales tax returns remain higher than last year’s. This report shows Seminole County, which has a sales tax rate of 0.0125, received a $273,915.86 tax disbursement for November. This was $7,007.92 less than the $280,923.78 returned last month. It was $27,291.47 more than the $246,624.39 returned last year.
