More Volunteers Needed For Rural Fire Departments

The rural volunteer firefighters in Seminole County are in serious need of more able-bodied men and women that can be available when needed. This includes the fire departments in Konawa, Bowlegs, Sasakwa, Strother, Cromwell and Maud.

Seminole Tax Disbursements up For Month And Year

The February press release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) shows the City of Seminole, which has a 0.04 percent sales tax, saw an increase in tax revenue for the month of February compared to last month. The release showed this revenue was also higher compared to February last year.

Seminole County Man Found Guilty of Murder

On February 8, 2023, Arlon Cooper, age 56, of Wewoka was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree by a Seminole County jury. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 20 years.
