The District 22 CASA program continues to seek volunteers to serve as much needed court advocates for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect and are in foster care. There were 107 children needing an adult advocate and only 3 CASA volunteers for Seminole BEFORE the latest court docket. CASA will be sponsoring their next training session beginning October 2, and they strongly encourage anyone that is interested to please visit their website adacasa. org where you can find information as well as find a volunteer application. Read moreThe Seminole Arts Council was recently picked as one of only ten communities in the entire nation to receive a $5,000 matching grant from the Housing Assistance Council (HAC) as part of their “Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge (RPIC).” On Tuesday, September 19 the Council will be sponsoring their second in a series of meetings to brainstorm and decide on the best way to invest these funds in the community, and the public is invited and encouraged to attend and share their thoughts and ideas. The meeting will be held in the SSC lecture room at the Enoch Kelly Haney Center beginning at 6:00 p.m.

While an official accident report was not available at press time, it appeared that the SUV hit the rear end of the truck, causing the SUV to roll over multiple times.
