A 2023 study from researchers in Japan published in the Archives of Gerontology and Geriatrics found that exercising both alone and with a partner two or more times a week helped to lower risk of cognitive impairment, but the risk was decreased by a more significant margin among those who exercised with others. Authors of the study found that the risk of cognitive impairment decreased by more than 29 percent among individuals who worked out with a partner, which was nearly double the percentage reduction (15 percent) among those who exercised alone.
