Seminole County was relatively unscathed by severe storms that barreled through Oklahoma Saturday night, but twisters, one of them deadly, touched down in two neighboring counties.

A tree on the Northwood Elementary campus was split by a lightning strike over the weekend as severe weather rolled across Seminole County. Locally, no tornadoes were associated with the storm but in Hughes County a tornado claimed one life Saturday. —S
