Dollar General Reopens After Lengthy Closure

Dollar General has announced that its store at 1900 N Milt Phillips Ave. in Seminole has reopened following a lengthy closure due to flood damage. To celebrate, the company plans to host a grand opening event this Saturday, Nov. 1, at 8 a.m.

City Shifts Code Enforcement to Police Department

The City of Seminole has shifted some code enforcement duties from city hall to the police department. During the Oct. 14 Seminole City Council meeting, City Manager Steve Saxon made a presentation on the change and a vision for the future of the department.

The Annual Sorghum Festival returns to Wewoka this Saturday, Oct. 25, for a 50th run. Senator Grant Green, whose district includes Seminole County, is encouraging all Oklahoma residents to attend the free, one-day event.
