As we move through the final stretch of session, I want to take a moment to reflect on where we are and where we are headed. Much of our work now rests in the hands of the Senate. Several House measures are still waiting to be heard, and others remain in limbo. At the same time, the majority of the budget bills have now reached the Governor’s desk, and with his approval, that work is largely behind us.

Now, our focus turns back to the House floor as we begin hearing Senate bills that have made it through their process. We are moving at a strong pace, and there is a real possibility we could wrap up session early this year.

I also want to share some encouraging news when it comes to education. Governor Kevin Stitt recently signed Senate Bill 1778 into law, strengthening Oklahoma’s Strong Readers Act. This is a meaningful step forward in helping ensure every child can read by the end of third grade.
