There was one piece of equipment the maintenance crew at the heavy industrial plant in OKC kept healthy.

We did the best we could to keep the Mazak lathes working, and Charlie the Oil Man kept the CNC milling machines full of oil and coolant. Roy and Rick kept the MIG welders working. I got to work on the paint booth-ugh—whenever it needed cleaning. My hands were always multi-colored whenever I shoveled out the paint booth.

At church fellowships, I didn’t want to stick my nasty-looking hands into the box of donuts and usually asked one of the ladies standing nearby to fetch a donut for me. Just workarounds when you’re a preacher between jobs, working at a manufacturing plant to pay the bills.
