Barnhill Found Guilty of Child Sex Crimes
District Attorney Erik Johnson announced Wednesday that Billy Barnhill, 62, of Hughes County, was found guilty following a three-day jury trial before District Judge Brett Butner.
Barnhill was convicted on multiple felony charges resulting from an investigation by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Chief Investigator Doug Parker after allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct involving minor children.
The jury recommended the following sentences: Count 1: Rape – First Degree (Victim Under Age 14), a Felony, 30 years Count 2: Lewd or Indecent Acts to a Child Under 16 (Felony) 20 years The sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 18, 2026, at which time Judge Butner will determine the final sentence after reviewing the jury’s recommendations.
