Sooners Moved Up in AP Poll After Week Four

SOONER WIRE - Shortly after the moving and shaking in the US LBM Coaches Poll on Sunday, the AP Top

25 was released and Oklahoma found itself in even better position.

The Sooners, ranked sixth in the Coaches Poll, moved up to No. 5 in the AP Poll. Losses by Penn State and Georgia opened two places inside the top five. Oklahoma and fellow Southeastern Conference mate Ole Miss took them at fifth and fourth, respectively. The two schools were followed by another SEC team in Texas A&M.

Ohio State held firm in the top spot followed by Oregon, which beat Penn State on Saturday and Miami (FL). The Nittany Lions fell to No. 7, followed by Indiana from the Big Ten and Texas and Alabama from the SEC. In all, the two best conferences held nine of the top 10 spots. Virginia and Arizona State entered the poll, knocking out Southern California, which lost to Illinois, and Texas Christian, which fell to the Sun Devils.
