Seminole State Trojan Basketball Stay Undefeated at Home Tuesday Night

The Seminole State Trojan Basketball team hosted the Allen County Community College Red Devils Tuesday night in a close win.

The SSC Trojans entered the game with a record of 2-1 on the season. Tuesday’s night game was the second home game for the Trojans and are undefeated at home so far.

In the first half, the Trojans pulled ahead with Ejay Greer knocking down two three-point shots to total 8 points in the half. Teammates Joseph Hunter scored seven points and Jamarri Simpson and Ming-Hsueh Cheng each hit a three-point shot (trey) to help SSC go on a 37 to 32 run.

The Trojans had the lead heading into the second half and continued to stay ahead of the Red Devils through the first half of the frame. Allen County closed the gap and made it a close game with approximately five minutes left in the game. The Red Devils had tied the game, but the Trojans never stressed and fought hard to pull out the win.

Seminole State’s Dylan Golightly scored 15 points alone in the second half and teammate Marco Smith put up 12 points to help the Trojans stay undefeated at home with a final score of 81-78.

Leading for Seminole State was Dylan Golightly with 20 points, two treys, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and was 6-9 from the free throw line.

Marco Smith had 18 points, one three-point shot, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and was one for one from the line.

Ejay Greer had 15 points, three treys, 6 rebounds, one assist and was 0-0 from the line.

Next up for the Trojans is on the 15th against Grayson College in Denison, Texas.

The next home game will be on the 18th against Langston JV.

The game is set to tipoff at 6 p.m.
