Sasakwa Vikings Win on the Road at Maud Thursday
The Maud Tigers hosted the Sasakwa Vikings for a Thursday night football game. Things didn’t go the Tigers way as the Vikings controlled the game and won on the road.
The first quarter was a slug-fest as both teams went back and forth on offense.
The Vikings found an opening with wide receiver Titan Collins for a 49-yard touchdown pass. Titus Collins converted the two-point conversion.
The Maud Tigers were down by 8 points heading into the third quarter.
The Viking offense came alive in the second quarter with Sherman Mitchell scoring on a 5-yard rushing touchdown and the 2-point conversion good by Titus Collins, a 60-yard touchdown pass to Titan Collins, no 2-point conversion, Ayden Livesay intercepted the ball and ran it back 48 yards for the score, Thad Harjo converted the 2-points and Darius Henderson rushed the ball 26 yards for the touchdown and Joseph Lunn converted the 2-points before the half.
The Sasakwa Vikings had a commanding lead with a score of 38-0 to start the third quarter.
The Vikings picked up where they left off from the first half with a 20-yard touchdown run by Thad Harjo. Two-point conversion failed.
The Maud Tigers continued to battle in the third and the Tigers found pay dirt when Koi Street scored a touchdown for Maud. The two-point conversion failed.
The Vikings went back on offense and sealed the win with a 65-yard touchdown pass to Titan Collins. Joseph Lunn converted the two-point conversion.
The game was called after the third with the Sasakwa Vikings winning on the road 52-6.
The Sasakwa Vikings had 231 team rushing yards and 207 passing yards.
Leaders for Sasakwa was Darius Henderson who rushed 10 times for 114 yards.
Titan Collins went 5 for 192 yards in receiving with three touchdowns.
Thad Harjo passed for 6-17 for 207 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.
No stats were given for the Tigers.
